描述
Dark outside. A world of colour within.
A rounded black form with pale lettering opens to a turquoise-coloured interior.
A CLOSER LOOK · THE BLACK CUP
The surprise is on the inside.
Pale lettering, a rounded black body and an unexpected turquoise interior. The appeal is in the contrast between the side view and the view into the cup.
THE ROUNDED FORM
A softer outline for your tea setting.
The rounded bowl brings pale script together on a dark surface. It offers a different silhouette from the flared red and blue cups in the collection.
SCRIPT AROUND THE BOWL
There is more than a front view.
The side photograph shows the lettering continuing around the bowl. Open the original view to read the photographed characters rather than relying on the styled scene.
TURQUOISE INTERIOR
A colour you discover from above.
The overhead view reveals the turquoise glaze across the interior. Keep this angle in mind when displaying the cup, so its second colour is part of the setting.
WISDOM · PERSPECTIVE · STILLNESS
A reminder to look again.
Heart Sutra lettering gives this cup its Buddhist connection. The contrast of black and turquoise inspires a contemporary thought: a familiar thing may still hold something you have not noticed.
Heart Sutra · beyond first impressions
The Buddhist wisdom tradition invites a deeper look than surface appearance alone. Let the cup accompany a wish to respond with thought, rather than haste.
A hidden colour · another perspective
The change from dark exterior to coloured interior is our contemporary metaphor for perspective. Turn the cup and a different part of the object becomes visible.
An unhurried moment · a personal wish
A personal tea habit can give a small wish a regular place: take time, notice the details and return to the day at your own pace.
Carry a little of the tradition into your everyday. These meanings express cultural wishes, without promising a change in fortune or outcomes.
Make a little room for it.
An evening without hurry
Use a simple tray and let the coloured interior be the one unexpected detail. Choose a tea that suits your own evening routine.
A collection of different cups
Place it beside plainer pieces to enjoy the contrast of shapes and glazes. Check the confirmed dimensions before planning a close-fitting tray or display.
For someone who notices what others miss.
Write a note about seeing a familiar thing from a new angle. Packaging photographs have not been supplied for this cup, so confirm the presentation and protective packing before giving it as a gift.
Look again. There is more within.
From the side, pale script traces a rounded black bowl. From above, the interior opens into turquoise. The change of view gives this cup a distinctive way to accompany an everyday habit of attention.
The Heart Sutra · beyond first impressions
The Heart Sutra is concerned with the perfection of wisdom, rather than the surface appearance of things. Its lettering gives this vessel a reflective association. Our everyday invitation is modest: look again before deciding, and make room for something you may not have noticed.
A hidden colour · another way of seeing
The turquoise interior is only fully revealed as the viewpoint changes. We treat that contrast as a contemporary metaphor for perspective: the same object can offer a different experience when approached differently. The glaze colour itself is not assigned a traditional protective or healing power.
A rounded form · a familiar companion
The curved bowl gathers the script into a continuous surface that changes as you turn it. Repeated use gives a personal object its own associations: a morning conversation, an evening read or the tea you share with a friend. That accumulated meaning is part of its appeal.
A change of perspective.
On a restrained tea tray, the rounded black exterior feels substantial while the turquoise interior adds an unexpected accent. Side and overhead views tell different parts of the same story.
Placement
For a single-person tea setting
Place the cup on a stable tray with a small amount of clear space around it. View it from above as well as from the side to enjoy the contrast of the two glazes.
In a collection of contrasting cups
Pair the black exterior with simpler vessels and keep the group uncrowded. When displaying it, angle the opening toward the viewer so the turquoise interior remains visible.
For someone who notices the details
Give it to a tea drinker who enjoys discovering an unexpected colour or a line of script. Add a personal note about seeing something familiar from a fresh point of view.
The interior colour is a contemporary visual interpretation. No material composition, therapeutic effect or ritual status is inferred from its colour or the pale lettering.
A daily encounter with the Heart Sutra.
The Heart Sutra belongs to the Buddhist wisdom tradition. Its lettering brings that cultural reference to an everyday tea vessel. Here, the invitation is to pause, pay attention and approach the day with care.
